What is the aim of the Young People's Environmental Committee?
It aims to make young people more aware of environmental issues, nature, and quality of life. »

The slogan of the Young People's Environmental Committee is: "Do life a good deed!". »

There are three main areas of action:
  • Contributing to the education of the citizens of tomorrow
  • Introducing them to their joint responsibilities
  • Encouraging adults (parents, teachers, and representatives) to see children as independent beings

On the 20th of November 2008, the projects for the year 2008-2009 were passed. They include:

  • The creation of a board game on sorting rubbish, new bins, better consumption habits, war on waste, renewable energies etc. as part of the Ener'Jeunes09 event
  • Reusable bags: Awareness and sales
  • Participation in the Effet de Jeunes contre Effet de Serre (Young People Against the Greenhouse Effect) events
  • Participation in the Walloon Young People's Environmental Assembly

OK, but what exactly does the Young People's Environmental Committee do?
The committee faces challenges and tries to find solutions.
Some of the committees successes are:

Reusable bags:

- The installation of bird feeders in schools
- Participation in the "Nuit de l'Obscurité" ("Night of Darkness")
- Participation in Children's Rights Day

Three representatives of our Young People's Environmental Committee attended:
Marie, Mathias, and Thomas. For more information on the activities of the Walloon Young People's Environmental Assembly, see the Internet site that publicizes its work: http://www.assembleedesjeunes.be/
